Join us on four occasions during Eric Magassa’s exhibition ‘Rumble in the Jungle’ for a multisensory experience where we invite artists to activate the exhibition space through DJ sets.
The second guest for ‘ Listening – Sound System Sessions‘ is Silja Beck will do a hybrid DJ-performance using discmans, short range radio transmitters and battery powered radios to weave treads of voice-recordings into music from a variety of genres, drawing inspiration from the relationship between poetry and power.
Silja Beck (*1996 in Wasserburg am Inn, DE) is an artist and educator working with listening, radio, sculpture and installations. In her artistic practice she explores social processes as formgivers. Through conversation and collaborative practice, her work observes how dynamics emerge within groups and spaces and how collective structures can be grasped, shaped, and transformed, drawing parallels between the characteristics of sound and the ways bodies and knowledge move through space.
Beck has studied art and art education at the Academy of Fine Arts Nürnberg, the Haute École des Arts du Rhin, the University of Applied Arts Vienna and 2025 graduated with a Master of Fine Arts at the Royal Institute of Arts Stockholm. Since 2018, she is part of the sound collective Dynamische Akustische Forschung (Dynamic Acoustic Research).
