Välkommen att dela en tallrik koshari – en traditionell egyptisk rätt – och lära känna konstnären Aya El Fallah och curatorn Elham Khattab, som för samman sina gränsöverskridande praktiker i denna informella köksmiljö.

Recipes of Meeting är ett programevent i Fittjaköket på Botkyrka konsthall där vi bjuder in dig att träffa våra gästande residensdeltagare tillsammans över en bit mat, samtal och konstnärliga gester. Genom video, objekt, minne och matlagning bjuder de in oss att utforska den emotionella kroppen och staden i mötet med  Aya El Fallahs konstnärliga praktik och i Elham Khattabs curatoriella arbete med digitala och experimentella konstnärer i Nordafrika, i det Kairobaserade residensprogrammet Out of the Circle. 

 Vi ser matlagning som en kanal för utbyte, samtal och gemensam reflektion. I detta sammanhang blir maten en plats för att initiera tvärkulturella samtal och skapa förbindelser, både inom och utanför konstvärlden. 

Abir Boukhari välkomnar Elham och Aya till Botkyrka konsthalls och Fittjakökets mat- och konstprogram, där hon kommer att laga mat tillsammans med dem och skapar ett rum för gästfrihet där konstnärliga praktiker möts kring ett gemensamt bord. Gästerna bjuds in till att samtala, smaka och reflektera.

Recipes of Meeting – with Aya El Fallah, Elham Khattab, and Abir Boukhari

Aya El Fallah, Elham Khattab, with Abir Boukhari at the kitchen of Botkyrka Konsthall. Recipes of Meeting is a one-day gathering in the kitchen of Botkyrka Konsthall, where we invite you to meet our resident guests through food, conversation, and artistic gestures. 

You are invited to share a plate of koshari -a traditional Egyptian dish- and meet artist Aya El Fallah and curator Elham Khattab, who bring their practices across borders into this informal setting. Through video, objects, memory, and cooking, they invite us to explore the emotional body and the city through the practices of Aya El Fallah and the curatorial practices of Elham Khattab with digital and experimental artists in North Africa, through her Cairo-based residency, Out of the Circle. 

We consider cooking as a medium for exchange, discourse, and shared reflection. Within this setting, food becomes a site for initiating cross-cultural conversation and connection, both inside and outside the art world. 

Abir Boukhari welcomes Elham and Aya through the framework of Botkyrka Konsthall’s kitchen program, cooks together, and creates a space of hospitality where artistic practices meet around a shared table. The evening is an invitation to gather, listen, and encounter one another through care, art, and collaboration. The event invites guests to our table set to talk, taste, and reflect.
