It isn’t hard

The art of losing isn’t hard to get the hang of.
So many things seem filled with the intent
to be lost that their loss is not hard to get the hang of.
Lose something every day.
Accept the fluster of lost door keys.

The art of losing isn’t hard to get the hang of.
Then practice losing farther, losing faster:
places and names and where you were meant
to travel. None of these will bring disaster.
I lost my mother’s phone. And look! my dad’s
last three loved houses went.

The art of losing isn’t hard to get the hang of.
I lost my studies, lovely ones and vaster,
we became as poor as a church mouse.
I miss them, but it wasn’t a disaster.
Even losing you (the joking voice, a gesture
I love) I shan’t have lied. It’s evident
the art of losing isn’t too hard to master
though it may look like, like a disaster.

The art of losing isn’t hard to get the hang of.
Weeks and weeks of isolation.
But still infinite and invincible determination.

We are distant.
But shall stand together.
And together.
We shall overcome!
